Course Overview:
The Fellowship in Contact Lens is a rigorous clinical program designed to provide hands-on experience
in contact lens fitting at both basic and advanced levels. This program offers practical exposure
and in-depth training in the specialized field of contact lenses.
Course Objectives:
- Explore the relationship between the cornea and contact lenses
- Conduct comprehensive contact lens evaluations
- Select the appropriate lens for each patient’s needs
- Manage troubleshooting during contact lens fitting
- Enhance safe and standard practices in contact lens fitting with a focus on scientific
principles
- Develop problem-solving skills to address emerging trends and challenges in contact lens
practice
- Make informed referrals when necessary
Course Details:
- Eligibility: Undergraduate Degree in Optometry with at least 1 year of
experience in Optometric practice
- Number of Seats: 4 per year
- Duration: 6 months (Full-time with regular clinical postings in Contact Lens
clinics at SN and its branch hospitals in Chennai)
- Course Fee:
Indian Students: INR 60,000/- +18% GST for 6 months
International Students: USD 1200
- Frequency: Twice a year (January and July)
