Fellowship in Community Optometry


Course Overview:

A 6-month comprehensive fellowship designed to empower optometrists with hands-on training, public health knowledge, and outreach experience to serve diverse communities effectively. This program blends clinical expertise with community engagement and leadership development.

Course Objective:

  • Train to plan and implement effective community eye care projects
  • Gain theoretical knowledge essential for community optometry
  • Apply an evidence-based approach to community outreach initiatives
  • Obtain hands-on exposure through real-world community engagement
  • Conduct school, workplace, and community vision screenings across diverse populations

Course Details:

  • Eligibility: Undergraduate degree in Optometry / Consideration for interns based on requirements
  • Number of Seats: 10 per year
  • Duration: 6 months (Training at Elite School of Optometry)
  • Course Fee:
    Indian Students: INR 60,000/- + 18% GST for 6 months
    International Students: USD 1200
  • Frequency: Twice a year (January and July)
